Yikes A Brown Snake!!! Watch Out!!!

Hi Everyone,

I have a very disturbing entry today!  Poor My Yollie, had the biggest fright of her life today!  I didn't know what had happened to her, all I heard was this horrible loud scream.  I have never heard anything like it before.  I was very worried, I didn't even know what it was, or if the sound was even human.  It turns out there is a Brown Snake in the front yard of My Yollie's house.

My Yollie nearly stepped on it!!!!  The terrible scream I heard was My Yollie, when she jumped out of it's way.  This is what she told us when she came down to check on us all and lock us up safe and sound......

My Yollie was out the front of her house doing some gardening after helping the little one with her home work after school.  My Yollie said she heard some rustling under the big pine trees on the council strip, but did not think much of it.  When she had finished putting in the new plants, she went over to get the hose.  Doing so she let out the blood curdling scream I heard.  She was reaching over to turn on the tap, she looked down and between her feet lay a brown snake.  She startled it probably as much as it startled her. Like a flash it whipped up and thrashed around her unprotected legs.  My Yollie jumped out of it's way as quickly as possible to avoid being bitten.   Next she ran inside to call the council, which were of no use at all and did not know how to help her or what they could do.  Next she called the snake catchers, they were not really any better. They told her there wasn't anyone available to come out to remove it today. All they could offer was to set up a bate trap which will cost her $160, but there was nothing they could do today!!  She really does not know what to do.  The last place she followed it to was under the cement driveway.  My Stewart (My Yollie's life-bond-mate)looked on the internet to see if there was any repellent to keep it away from the house and the castle. He sprayed citronella around, not that the info available was very optimistic. Hopefully this works though, for all our sakes; Our humans, Holly, Blossom, Chester, Ariel, Belle, Tink, Pox, Will, Barney, the fish in our pond, Daddy, Mummy, Patches and me! Till next time. Think of us poor guys - Hopefully we have good news to report.

Yummy, yummy Watermelon

Hi everyone,
Sweetie here,   have a look at today's harvest:

Look at the Watermelons! I love watermelon, it is my favourite. I am not allowed to eat a lot (or it hurts my tummy) a bunny with a sore tummy is not funny !!!! :o(   My Yollie promised to give me a taste and here it is:

It was sweet, crisp and very delicious. Daddy, Mummy, Patches and I had a ball.  We made a feast out of our special treat.  I made sure the chooks did not get any, they wouldn't know good food if it jumped up and bit them on the tail feather!  Have you seen them eat  !?!?! Disgusting!  I try to look away, but a little like a train wreck, you are drawn in.

Here are the seeds My Yollie has saved for next planting.

We also had a surprise visit from My Yollie's grandparents, Rosina and Lou today.  They are in their 455th years (their eighties in human years). We had a great time together. Lots of yummy gifts and lots and lots of laughs and catching up.  We don't get to see them very much these days, Grandpa Lou doesn't like driving long distances or at night and Grandma Rosina likes to be home to take good care of Grandpa Lou .  But today we were spoilt!!  They even tried to stay late enough for our dusk romp.   We delivered our best binkies, hops, races and flips for our delighted audience.  All in all a wonderful time was had by all! The sun even came out for a while to warm us up.

Take care, until next time, don't be shy to say Hi!

Cheeky Chooks!!!

Hi all it's Sweetie here,

Why is it that every time I think it is safe for a snooze in my burrow the chooks have to get up to mischief??? Have a look at what those cheeky chooks have done this time!!!! I don't know what I'm going to do with them!

Oh so naughty! Stealing tomatoes! My Yollie will not be happy.
Who do you think is was? Let's see now, who looks guiltiest?

Belle? Hmmm head down, worried stare? Maybe! Ariel hiding in the back ground doesn't look too worried......  who's next ....
Could it have been, "We hope she's a girl" ?  Standing up tall, head raised?
Yep, Probably not then. Who's else is there? Willow, hiding behind "We hope she's a girl", not looking very promising.... But... wait a minute ...
What's this, who's hiding under the umbrealla? Oh dear, not a good sign at all.
Is that you Pox trying to make a quick escape? Could it be?

Why Pox? Why did you do it??  You give yourself away every time! It's no use trying to look coy now! Let's hope My Yollie is in a good mood.

"Sorry Sweetie, I couldn't help it, they just look so yummy! Boy was I wrong. Let me give you a tip. Green tomatoes give you the runs!!!! I just learnt the hard way :o( I think next time I'll wait)."

Thanks everyone for helping my solve the mystery.  Good work.  Take care, Love Sweetie

And finally here are some updated pics of our Fairy Castle from the veggie patch! Boy have things changed in one season! :o)
Oh dear, I am not used to blogging in the day time, a bunny needs her beauty sleep you know! So, I think I will go back to my daytime nap now!! Till next time, take care  xox Sweetie ;o)

A quick catch up ....

Hi Everyone,
It's Sweetie here! I have been so busy of late. I need to apologise for neglecting my "blogging" duties.  It has been go, go, go around the castle farm.  We have been out pruning the weeds and helping cultivate the earth ready for the next lot of planting.  My Yollie has been frantically harvesting all sorts of goodies.  We love our extra tasty and fresh and crisp treats as reward for all our hard work around the garden.  My favourite is the little cucumbers, too small for the humans but oh so yummy for the bunny!!

The Rock-melons have been fantastic, My Yollie picked 15 good sized ones this week and we got three undersized but still juicy and delicious specimens. It wont be long now till the watermelon will be picked. They look super juicy too!

Lastly I need to give a mention to the enormous Sunflower growing in the garden (we don't have a picture to post yet, but hopefully tomorrow I can get one).  It is gigantic. I can't even see the top! It is so big.  My Yollie tells me you can see it from over the fence when you drive past! It's even taller than her (not that she is very tall by human standards) and the mature nectarine tree !!  To think it just came up all by it's self from some of our discarded animal feed. Then with some magic from mother nature and hey presto, giant flower towering over all else in the veggie patch, amazing. Well till next time, happy autumn and  take care.  Sweetie xox.

A Milestone to Celebrate ...

Hi Everyone,
It's Sweetie here again.  My Kingdom has returned to normal. All is good in the land. The rodent has returned from whence it came!!! Ahhh, bliss!

I have some wonderful news to share with you all.  Guess what I found today! Go on guess.....  No? Okay well I'll just tell you.  It's very exciting....  Young Willow or "Will" as we like to call her,

her, just .....  I know the suspense is killing me too. Let me just get on with it ...  Now where was I?   Oh yes.  Young Will celebrated a huge milestone today.  She laid her first egg!!!  Yep, her very first goog!    She is so clever, we didn't hear a peep out of her.  And to think Patches kept telling us she was a he. How wrong can my brother be? Luckily for Will she is a SHE or you know how it goes for the boy chooks once they start crowing in suburban neighbourhoods.  Thank goodness we don't have to worry about all that. So long as we keep quiet, spayed or neutered, to our selves and out of trouble, we are fine, especially if we are luck enough to reside in a castle!  Okay your right, I am very happy at the moment and yes I have forgiven My Yollie. Now that everything has returned to normal, who can stay mad with such a loving and caring human? Well not I.  So until next time, take care Sweetie xox
