Jungle June, holiday snaps part 2 - turtle island

Howdy all, Sweetie here.  We are all doing great, but freezing our little cotton tails!!  It's brrrrrrrr fffffrrrrreeeezzzzyyy here in Adelaide yesterday got to a whole 11 degrees (about 50 f) .  Luckily we have a cushy hay lined castle to keep toasty warm. My Yollie laughs because in the morning our window is all frosty on the outside and steamy warm on the inside.     =(:o)

Back to warm sunny pictures of the tropics, namely, Bali;

Firstly this is the sunrise from the balcony of the Seminyak Town House apartment. Taken at about 5.45am...
They were off to Turtle Island.....  beware though......  you need to watch your stuff here...
A quick "Donut" cruise to get the blood pumpin'
Poor Lani, did not enjoy this at all. Even though my Yollie asked if it was ok for her girl, and was assured all was fine, the poor little lady nearly had her arm torn-off and was airborne whilst cruising through the waves .  Luckily, My Yollie held on tight - she would never let anything happen to her baby.
Miss Lani's first comment on touching terra ferma?  "Mummy, I saw my life flash before my eyes!!"

I hear it took quite a bit of convincing the little lady to continue on and venture to Turtle Island on the Glass bottom boat!
But she did, such a brave little girl and when she got over the fear of a repeat episode of the "Donut" she quite enjoyed herself.  She even got to feed these little guys some bread.
Here are their captians!  The driver was 12 years old, and an expert.
After a relaxing 20min cruise my humans embark on .......
 TURTLE ISLAND.....
here are some babies ready for weighing and feeding.....
here is our little lady ......  fearless ..... someday she hopes to become a Vet, we can't wait!!
Here are some happy sea turtles being fed by the visitors. Seaweed I think...
The purpose of Turtle Island is a conservation project, where staff and volunteers catch, raise and release native turtles which are desperately depleted and face extinction.  My Yollie thought it was a wonderful programme and the locals were very informative too.  They clearly love their work and are happy to share the experience and their knowledge with others.
This boy below is a mere 60years old!!
Oh, here is my humans wonderful tour guide, Made (pron. Mar-dey), taking a look at a Balinese Horn bill. I Wonder what he is thinking?
My Yollie taught me how to tell the age of this bird, do you want to know how??????
You count it's ridges over the bill of course!  This guy is ....  um .... 1, 2, 3, ......   4!!!!
Next, we have My Yollie, petting a water monitor - hey!!!!  I thought I was her special little critter, boo hoo!
EEEEEEKKKKK!!  Oh, it's ok, it's just a picture, oh boy - me hear nearly jumped out my little chest! Phew. Ok, this is a bird of prey, can't remember the name, too frightened even to look at it. Quickly moving on...
Aaah, that's better, here we have My Yollie, enjoying a refreshing drink and some lunch with her family after the days excitement at Turtle Island!

So that's all from me, Sweetie, signing off now with a preview of tomorrows post....  at Bali Culture Park...

take care everybun!
