Jury Duty has been deferred, but it's not what you think ....

Hi everyone and bun, it's Sweetie here,

It is with a heavy heart I post tonight's update.

My Yollie has been granted leave of her Jury Duty to be deferred until a later time.

Why I hear you ask?  Well the reason is not a nice one at all.

The whole Kingdom of Fairy Castle Farm is devastated and  has gone in to a state of shock.  with feelings we can describe only of utter sadness and dismay.

So it's with great distress I inform you all that our special little human girl is very sick.  She is in hospital and My Yollie is by her side.

'What on earth has happened?' I hear you ask. Well the illness is not nice either.

She has Salmonella Poisoning.

I know, I hear you 'gasp' - and for those of you who didn't gasp and would like to know what it is : click here http://www.dh.sa.gov.au/pehs/ygw/salmonellagastro-pehs-sahealth-2009.pdf

'How on earth did this happen?' you say.  Well we are not sure.  As you know My Yollie was on call for Jury Duty so our little miss was staying with family until that Monday afternoon.  A few suspect causes have been noted but no one else got sick and there are no longer any samples to test.  So it remains an unfortunate, unthinkable and horrible mystery.

So as you can see it is a horrendous and very nasty illness.  With no vaccine or cure currently available.  It needs to run it's course, she needs to be able to fight it.  Unfortunately our little one did suffer complications by the way of dehydration.

Although she is a brave fighter and drank as much as humanly possible and did everything asked of her medically to treat her illness, and then some, the nasty bugs were and are still, also continuing to be very strong.

No matter how much fluid she puts in, they (the bugs) pushed out, by whatever means they needed.  Under medical guidance a home strategy was strictly followed.  However, 7 long days later, exhausted, dehydrated, extremely sore and kilograms lighter, there was not option but to take our little princess to the emergency room.

Since then (Monday) she has remained in hospital,  quarantined with My Yollie, (due to the nature of the contagious infection).  She is still receiving rehydration therapy as I type this and putting up the bravest fight we have ever heard of.

We hope and pray with all our hearts for no further complications and a complete and speedy recovery.
Pictures speak a thousand words, and these are no exception, we are all SAD!

Please be patient with us if we do not have much to blog for the time - but we will try and keep you all updated as much as possible.  Thanks again for visiting, sorry it has been under such sad circumstances.

Keep well,

Sweetie xx
